The stator is the fixed field winding that works with the armature to create the rotating magnetic field – without a healthy stator, the motor cannot deliver smooth, reliable power to your backing pad. Heat, overload, fine dust and years of start-stop cycles can eventually damage the original stator, leading to poor torque, excessive sparking, tripping of power protection or a motor that simply refuses to run.
